The Section's Aviation Litigation Committee will be holding its 13th Annual Aviation Litigation CLE Seminar on June 1 in New York City. This year's program will share the perspective of aviation practitioners that have switched sides gone "in house" or moved to and from the insurance industry, while also exploring the needs and challenges of foreign litigants in US Courts.

The Winter 2007 issue of the Litigation journal, now available online, delves into the topic of secrets and lies through a engaging collection of articles, including "Deceitful Silence" and "Ferreting Out the Lying Juror, and Other Psychological Tips for Voir Dire."

This handbook is a useful document for intangible asset management inquiries, with a special emphasis on licensing, transaction due diligence and bankruptcy. It attempts to help improve the management of companies with underleveraged intangible asset portfolios.

This book provides independent directors and their advisors with an understanding of the primary legal and governance issues that have evolved in the corporate governance environment since the passage of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act in 2002.

By all accounts ABA TECHSHOW 2007 was a smashing success. The numbers speak for themselves: Over 2000 registrants. 845 CLE program attendees, including almost 100 people for our new Solo and Small Firm Day at TECHSHOW. The TECHSHOW Vendor Expo Hall was sold out – 140 booths with 500 vendor reps, and over 700 people took advantage of the Free Expo Hall pass to visit with the exhibitors.

The reviews and comments I got from attendees were all very complimentary: "The best CLE program I have ever attended". "I am really not a technology person and I found the sessions were motivating and inspirational". "I just can't believe how much I am learning". "I will be changing the way I practice".

ABA TECHSHOW requires its speakers to do papers for each session they speak on, and CLE program attendees took home a CD packed with materials – something for every session.

The keynote presentation, a review of the new Federal Rules of Civil Procedure by Justice Shira Scheindlin (the judge that wrote the landmark decisions in Zubulake vs. UBS Warburg), followed by a discussion of e-discovery FAQs moderated by John Jessen of Electronic Evidence Discovery Inc., was one of the best attended sessions of the show. One attendee said "the keynote was worth the price of admission," A free podcast of the TECHSHOW keynote presentation will be available shortly on the TECHSHOW site.

A number of the sessions at TECHSHOW were recorded, and will be available on the ABA CLE site shortly.

Attendees raved about the new "Taste of TECHSHOW" dinners. These Dutch-treat dinners were hosted by program faculty and featured discussions on popular topics. Clearly attendees really appreciated the chance to meet like-minded people for discussions on topics of interest. "Taste of TECHSHOW" will be back next year with even more dinners and topic choices.
