This topic has popped up recently as well as throughout my entire encounter with the western society, and I've gotta officially clear this up once for all:
When you see the surname "Wang," it is always pronounced "Wong" (w-ah-ng). There is no such word in Mandarin Chinese that is pronounced "w-A-ng" with an open A. In fact, whenever you seen a English spelling of a Chinese word that contains "-ang," it is almost always "ah-ng."
When you see the surname "Wong," it is almost always pronounced with an O (i.e. w-oh-ng) because the pronounciation is linked to a dialect, mostly Cantonese. No word in Mandarin Pinyin system is spelled "Wong" because, again, it's from a dialect.
I know this is confusing. The pinyin system borrows its spellings from the Internation Phonetic Alphabet. In the alphabet, [a] signifies "ah."
This gets even more confusing when some Chinese Americans with the surname "Wang" mispronounce their own names, probably influenced by the American pronouncation without knowing the meaning of the word pronounciation in American slang.
Next time, when you meet a "Wang" who pronounces his/her name "w-A-ng," ask him/her the Mandarin pronounciation of the word. I guaratee you it's "w-ah-ng."

So I'm happy just to get a 3.
I didn't finish the multiple choice, and I omitted 3 on each column.
I bsed the 2nd and some of the 3rd essay. WTF happened in the Roman Empire from 100 CE to 600 CE??
Haha, Rong got a nosebleed during the test.
"I got blood all over my essays."
What a silly goose.
One down. One to go. (NYSSMA)
I think I cut my nails too short. They kinda hurt as I type this. Sucks to be me.
Violin lesson was at 8-9pm. I improved a lot. I just have to worry about intonation.
Come to think of it, is there a NYSSMA for the triangle? Be weird to have one though.
