Timo Glock took the GP2 victory he’s been threatening all year by scorching through to first from eighth at Barcelona.
He became the fourth different driver to win in the first four rounds of GP2. Behind him Javier Villa impressively kept pace with the leaders to hold second.

Bruno Senna took his first win in GP2 with a consummate drive at the Circuit de Catalunya.
He took advantage of a strategic mis-step by Timo Glock and the ISport team. Glock led the race from pole position but chose not to make his compulsory pit stop early following a safety car period.

Michael Ammermuller’s injured wrist rules him out of GP2 action at Spain this weekend. Fellow Red Bull driver development pilot Mikhail Aleshin will take Ammermuller’s place in the ART team at the Circuit de Catalunya.

Dave Pinkney made the most of being promoted to pole position to streak away from the pack on the first lap of the race. Both BMWs again made good starts and Colin Turkington took second ahead of Jason Plato - but Plato passed him at the end of the first lap and set after Pinkey.

Fabrizio Giovanardi made it two in a row at Thruxton - but he was helped by a drive-through penalty for championship rival Jason Plato.
The race was punctuated by a violent crash between Darren Turner and Matt Allison, but both drivers were uninjured.

Fabrizio Giovanardi’s championship campaigned gathered momentum with a win in the first round at Thruxton - though championship leader Jason Plato took second after a race-long battle.
Giovanardi made a fine start in his Vauxhall but he was instantly under pressure from Colin Turkington who made a phenomenal getaway in his rear-wheel drive BMW.

Gabriele Tarquini won the second race at Zandvoort after contact with early leader Andy Priaulx.
Reigning champion Priaulx had started from pole position ahead of Tarquini. Behind them, Roberto Colciago’s Seat Leon and Augusto Farfus in another BMW.

Gary Paffett took a magnificent win at Oschersleben in last year’s Mercedes C-Class.
If that weren’t surprising enough, team mate Paul di Resta now leads the title race in a 2005 Mercedes! He is tied at the top with Martin Tomcyk.

Following the dangerous behaviour of several NASCAR fans at the recent Talladega race, it’s heartening to see that the circuit has banned those responsible from future events.
Zero tolerance is the only way to deal with those who would jeopardise driver safety just because they don’t like a result.

The owners of Scottish racing circuit Knockhill are axing the name ‘Clark’s’ from one of the corners in deference to a sponsor.
The corner on the circuit visited by the British Touring Car Championship and other series was named after twice Formula 1 World Champion Jim Clark. It is to be re-titled “Carlube”.
