Do you know of any local bands who members are either in college or under 21?

Hey folks. My name's Rhue, I'm 17, and I've lived in Duluth all my life. I love it here but I'm planning on going to the Cities for college (probably Northwestern Health Sciences University, just fyi) and then living there for another 3 or 5 years while I get my life going. I'm interested in martial arts, books, and most music except for the vast majority of rap and country. If you want to know more there's always my profile and my journal, obv, or you can talk to me on AIM at theonlymria. I'm basically here to make some friends (particularly) in the Twin Cities area so that when I move there on my own I won't be totally alone.
Cheers.

I'm in need of a tagging gun for pricing some garage sale items. Does anyone have one, or know where to get one in the TC area?

I'm looking for something fun to do Monday night. I'm not really interested in museums, but other than that, I'm wide open as to the type of activity. Is there anything fun going on in town, or does anyone have suggestions of things they enjoy doing on weeknights?

Anyone know an "intimate" place in the cities that I can rent for a smallish bachelorette party? We want a place with a pool table and alcohol. Suggestions?

Hello all! I checked the memories, but didn't find any information pertaining to my question.
What off-site catering companies have you had good experiences with?
My fiance and I are in the beginning stages of planning our wedding and reception, and it would be nice to have a few names to start checking into. We're hosting a reception for roughly 50 people, and are working on a fairly limited budget, so companies who cater to small groups and budgets are what we're most interested in! Beverage service is a plus, but not necessary.
Thanks in advance!

Does anyone know the name of the organization that help women get the right clothing for a new job after a big life transition? It seemed like a really cool program and I have some things to donate.

Has anyone a particularily good physician they can recommend me to? I just need a physical and certificate of health so I can go out of the country, but would prefer to know a name to return to when I'm back in St. Paul.
Thanks!

My significant other and I are planning a "Let's pretend we're on a first date for fun" outing for this weekend.
There are two rules:
1. Must include mini-golf.
2. Must be near food.
Soooo, anyone play mini golf? Where do you go? Is it expensive? And is there food nearby?
We're in New Hope, but willing to travel into the city or around the suburbs.
Thanks!

Does anyone know of any old-fashioned beauty/hair salons? In particular, I'm looking for one where the shampoo bowl/sink is "hidden" under the counter or board. The counter is lifted up when the sink needs to be used.

Some friends from Madison and the Twin Cities are looking to get together for a camping weekend. We decided the Lacrosse/Winona area would be a good middle place that has some nice scenery.
Does anyone have a good recommendation for camping near there? It should be near water and must allow dogs.
Thanks.

PRINCE! I LOVE Prince!
Prince was my very first arena show, seven years ago (ironically) when I
was about 15 and yesterday I saw him rock the stage again! It was his
first return to First Avenue in 20 years, I?m 22 years old now and I was
fortunate enough to be singing and dancing along with people from all over
the world and coming from all sorts of other backgrounds at this show!
It was truly amazing and SHOULD NEVER HAVE BEEN SHUT DOWN.
The Minneapolis Police Department is the biggest gang in the TC. it
disgusts me. The fact that they shut Prince down before he was finished is
NOT the only thing I have against them. I work for a club downtown on 5th
st and Hennepin ave. I witness on a weekly basis the injustice the MPD
imposes upon our ethnic citizens. It?s repulsive.
I?ve said for a long time that it?s something the news SHOULD be covering
and attempting to help put a stop to. Especially sickening is the way
black people are treated on Sunday nights just around the corner from our
club. It should not be tolerated! MPD just uses that night, which caters
to "ghetto hip hop types" as a racist field day, they use excessive force
in controlling a crowd which in no way requires police control. It's as
though they're glad to flex their muscles in this way and the people can
do nothing except cover their mouths and escape to their cars.
They use mace unprovoked as well as tazers. They run into large crowds on
their horses in a way I would never witness them doing on a Friday night,
where the crowd is typically white & suburban.
Something should be done? Something NEEDS to be done.
One might further wonder ?if the performer wasn?t black, in the case of
Prince, if they would have allowed their show to continue.?
Prince is the man, there was nothing arrogant or inconsiderate about him
going on stage at the time he did. I waited from 4 am to past 4 pm to get
my ticket and I?d do it all over again for the same experience. I did not
get any sleep the entire weekend, between my two jobs, waiting for tickets
and the show, until Sunday at 6:00 am when I fell asleep in my bath tub.
However, I didn?t feel jipped what so ever, at any point during my whole
experience, UNTIL THE COPS SHUT THE SHOW DOWN. It?s ignorant of them to
assume Prince was being ?arrogant? to go on stage so late. It is a further
shame on the city to shut down such a legendary show, played by such an
amazing artist to whom they owe so much respect that was clearly not paid
in full.
But I will rein in my anger and OVERALL disgust at our despicable
?authorities? owing to the words spoken by Prince himself, he will be back
?soon?.
Thanks for your time and hearing me out!
- Lizz!

I go clubbing a lot and I'm sick of all my clothes. Anyone know where I can get sort of techno/industrial/goth-style club clothing? I'm talking more about rubber/vinyl stuff, like what hot topic would sell if hot topic didn't suck. I know of nowhere in the TC that has anything even remotely interesting.

"It's really about Minneapolis' commitment to the quality of life," said Michael Weber, president and chief executive of Volunteers of America of Minnesota. "If you look at the entire society, it says we will give back to the community and take care of our society."
The study said several demographic and social factors appear to contribute to higher volunteer rates:
_Short commutes to work, which provide more time to volunteer.
_Home ownership, which promotes attachment to the community.
_High education levels, which increase civic involvement.
_High concentrations of nonprofit organizations providing opportunities to volunteer.

my mom lost her beloved 3 yr old sheltie last night on the north shore on WBL last night. her name is jersey and here's a pic of her.
my step-dad let the dog out last night to go to the bathroom and they think she chased his truck. our neighbor's said they saw her running madly through the swamps late last night too :( shelties are very skittish and will just run and run if they get lost.
if anyone has seen her or has found her, there IS reward $.
EDITED: Found!!

Hello!
I have to liquidate my CD collection and I am wondering where the best place to sell used CDs is in the Twin Cities.
I have about 200-300 CDs to sell - 50's - early 90's stuff, with most of it being artists from the 80's.
I am open to all suggestions.
Thanks!

Our wedding is August 5th, and our "family friend" rabbi just backed out on us. Does anyone know a Reform rabbi or cantor in the greater Minneapolis/St Paul area who is willing to officiate an interfaith marriage? With less than a month's notice?

| My dog is in dire need of a good teeth cleaning. They're yellowing and her breath is getting bad.
Anyone know of a good vet that has reasonable prices on cleanings? Reasonable being a subjective word since all cleanings are very expensive. |
