The biggest badass does not have to be a good guy or bad guy. He or she does not even have to be human, just who/whatever you consider to be some of the biggest badasses to step foot onto a page. And if there is a badass from a medium that is not literature but still so badass you feel he or she has to be mentioned, go ahead!
Just one request-- please, why did you select your badass?

Because the old thread got cluttered. I know it's early days, but for a con it seems wise to plan in advance...
Here's the web page for the con, giving details. The GoH list is pretty good - Anne McAffrey, Stephen Baxter, and Zoran Zivkovic. Membership for the three days is only £15 or EUR 22.50 from now until August.
I'll list Definites, Probables, Possibles below.

As far as I know, there's-
Stannis, Night's Watch, Wildlings- Based at the wall, fighting against the Others and possibly the ironborn/Boltons? If they end up fighting anyone south of the wall, they're gonna run into problems, being based in castles without walls... I could see this group splintering, either the wildlings breaking off, trouble in the night's watch, or divisions between the NW and Stannis' group.
Ramsay/Boltons- Based in the dreadfort, don't really know what they want. I assume Ramsay is in league with Roose. As it is, Roose is coming north supported by the Lannisters and with his remaining troops. They also have the asset of the fake Arya Stark.
Ironborn- They hold Moat Cailin and Deepwood Motte, but do they have any real power in the north? They seem to be attacking everywhere in Westeros at the same time, but mostly on the coasts. Moat Cailin is valuable because they basically control all passage to the north.
Remaining Stark bannermen- There seems to be a few minor houses sworn to house Stark left. What will they do? Go over to stannis? Be deceived by the false Arya? Fight only for themselves? If the news comes that Jon has been legitimized, many would no doubt go to him. There's the inconvenient little oath he's sworn, but there's gotta be someway around that. Highly interesting is Howland Reed, and what he will do, since Rickon is headed toward him. Could he attack moat cailin?
Anyone have any idea how large the armies of each of these are?

Okay, I am fully prepared to be laughed at and I have my best "What would Lord Tywin do" facial expression on.
Am I the only person who thinks that Sansa will end up having a child by Sandor? Wolves and dogs kill each other, yes, but they can also interbreed. And after Sansa's very correct but cold thinking of Jon as merely her bastard half brother, it would be nicely ironic for her to have a bastard kid of her own.

I'm thinking I would tell Maestor Aemon to take the crown and prevent Mad King Aerys from ascending the throne.

I'll get some pictures of my (ver small ) collection of books up soon - anyone have some they can share?
